How can we do it all?

Written by Victoria Sardain in collaboration with kaio swim

Exercise daily but don’t over do it. Prioritize self-care but never miss a deadline. Plan for the future but live in the present. Excel at your job, spend time for your family and practice self-care but of course also be happy and enjoy the journey otherwise what’s the point! Oh and don’t forget to meditate daily, keep a zero-inbox policy, help your kids with their homework and have you picked up breathwork yet???

Do you ever wonder… How can we do it all?? Have you ever thought that your time management or lack of discipline must be at fault?

The truth is that you can do it all, but here’s the catch… you can’t do it all at once.

It might sound harsh, but I hope it also takes a massive burden off your shoulders. Striving for perfection in an imperfect world does nothing but make us feel perpetually inadequate. It can decrease our confidence, lead to frustration and ultimately we end up in a downward spiral of low-motivation and productivity.

So where do we go from here?

The key to doing it all is remembering: we don’t need to be in a rush.

Instead of trying to do it all, focus on just one element in just three aspects of life.

Example…

My priority in the realm of health = workout 3x/week
My priority in the realm of work = working on that specific project
My priority in the realm of family = read with the kids before bed

Another example…

My priority in the realm of personal growth = daily reading
My priority in the realm of creativity = practice piano on weekends
My priority in the realm of environmental impact = purchase new items from sustainable brands

If the idea of narrowing down your focus gives you FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out; what if breathwork really would change my life??) remember the following: saying “no for now” does not mean “no forever”.

You can adjust your priorities as and when, but for now, keep your focus.

You can do it all, but not all at once.
